Copy of a letter from Sir Stanier Porten to Anthony Todd, dated at St James [Middlesex] concerning the packet-boat service to Jersey and Guernsey which 'Express', Captain Brook Samson is due to set up. The main purpose is intelligence gathering, and Brook is to sail for, and then stay in Guernsey, until General [Henry Seymour] Conway calls him back.
