Folios 57-62. Report of Alexander Wedderburn on the petition of Douglas, Duke of Hamilton for a writ to summons him to the present parliament as Duke of Brandon. The dispute touches on the rights of Scottish peers with other British titles, including whether they may vote to elect the 16 peers of Scotland under the Treaty of Union. The example of the Duke of Queensberry is given; he was created Duke of Dover and Earl of Solway. Also mentions: the Marquis of Annandale; the Marquis of Lothian; George, Lord Duplin, eldest son of the Earl of Kinnoul, who became Baron Hay of Pedwarden; and David, eldest son of the Duke of Montrose, created Earl Graham.
