Food Vision started in 2000 as a project to promote local initiatives that increase access to safe, sustainable and nutritious food and so improve community health and wellbeing. Food Vision is a joint project run by Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services (LACORS) and the Food Standards Agency (FSA), and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and is supported by the Local Government Association and the Improvement and Development Agency (IDe&A).
