Captured ship: Mary of Poole (master John Fowler).
History: an English merchant ship (100 tons, with a French prize crew) bound from Cadiz to Newfoundland, laden with salt, wine, meal, bread, pork, beef, raisins; taken on 8/18 October off the Scilly Isles by the French privateer Amitie (Rene Torand commanding), retaken in fight on 16/26 October 1691 off Cherbourg by the English privateer Swallow (John Tupper commanding), and brought into Poole.
