Captured ship: Marie de Pontchartrain of St Malo (commander Henry Arson).
History: a French privateer (250 tons, 28 guns, 152 men) bound from St Malo on a cruise; taken on 3/3 September 1694 off the Scilly Isles by HMS Foresight (John Manston commanding) and HMS Reserve (Isaac Townsend commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
