Captured ship: St Margrieta or St Margaret of Stade (master Cornelis Petersen).
History: a Swedish ship (36 tons), bound from Bordeaux to Gothenburg, laden with wine and brandy; taken on 2/12 April 1696 off Cap de la Hague by the HMS Lichfield (Archibald Hamilton commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
