Captured ship: St Marguerite or St Margaret of Caen (master Pierre Jeanne or Peter John).
History: a French merchant ship (33 tons) bound from Dunkirk to St Valery en Caux, laden with brandy; taken on 21/31 August 1691 off the coast of Normandy by HMS Kingfisher (John Johnson commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
