Description

Captured ship: Margaret of Stockholm (master Andreas Humbla).

History: a Swedish merchant ship (80 tons) bound from Dundee, Scotland to San Sebastian, laden with coal and wheat; taken on 8/18 February 1691/2 in Dover Roads by the privateer William and Charles (Charles Cawsey commanding), and brought into Dover.

Court Papers numbered CP 1-CP 4:

  • [CP 1]: three examinations;
  • [CP 2]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants in Stockholm;
  • [CP 3]: certificate relating to the ship's cargo;
  • [CP 4]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants in Stockholm.

[Decision: ship and cargo restored, 13 April 1693].
