Description

Captured ship: Magdalen of Nantes (master François Groux or Grout).

History: a French merchant ship (24 tons, 4 men) bound from Nantes to Calais; taken during early 1690/1 by HMS Advice (Edward Boys commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

Court Papers numbered CP 1-CP 2:

  • [CP 2]: docket for the ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 3, muster roll, ship's passes.

[Decision: ship and cargo condemned 26 March 1691].
