Description

Captured ship: St Madeleine of Dieppe (master Jean Baptiste Le Ber).

History: a French privateer (25 tons, 4 guns, 46 men), bound from Dieppe on a cruise; taken on 17/27 July 1695 off Le Tréport by HMS Charles Galley ([Edward Chant] commanding), and brought into Dover.
