Captured ship: David and Elizabeth or King David (master Vincent Certain or Sertain).
History: a Swedish or allegedly French merchant ship (90 tons) bound from La Rochelle to Gothenburg, laden with salt; the captors alleged that the ship was purchased at La Rochelle by Garret Andreas, the commander of the Danish warship Charity of Gothenburg; taken on 26 June / 6 July 1692 about 50 leagues west of the Scilly Isles by HMS Plymouth (John Maine commanding), and brought into the Downs.
