Captured ship: Dauphin of Le Havre (master Jean Du Lac).
History: a French provisioning and packet boat (50 tons, 9 men) bound from the French fleet in the English Channel to Le Havre, in ballast after deliving fresh water and ammunition; taken on 4/14 August 1690 off Portland by the privateer Hare (Clement Loumer commanding) and brought into Weymouth, where the privateer crew dropped of the mail-in-transit from the French fleet that they had taken, and then continued to Guernsey where they initiated the prize case.
