Description

Captured ship: Juffrouw Sara of Amsterdam (master Cornelius Fluyter).

History: a Dutch merchant ship (200 lasts) bound from Amsterdam to Lisbon, laden with iron, bale goods, pipestaves, cloves and tin plates; taken on 7/17 February 1693 off Spithead by the privateer Ashby Frigott (Leonard Moucher commanding), and brought into Cowes.

  • [CP 1-CP 4]: interrogatories, five examinations, commission, envelope;
  • [CP 5]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants in Amsterdam;
  • [CP 6-CP 7]: accounts of legal expenses.

[Decision: ship and cargo restored, 9 March 1693].
