Captured ship: Increase of Youghal or Bristol (master James Peare or Paire).
History: an English or Irish merchant ship (100 tons, 12 men) bound from Youghal, Ireland to Virginia, laden with beef and butter; taken on 28 November / 8 December 1690 off Cape Clear by the French privateer Surprenant (Louis Fontaine commanding), retaken on 2/12 December 1690 off 'the Sorlingiers' [Isles of Scilly] by HMS Portsmouth (Francis Wyvell commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

- [CP 1-CP 4]: five examinations;
- [CP 5]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants in Bristol;
- [CP 6-CP 6a]: attestation as to the ship's voyage and capture, customs certificate;
- [CP 7-CP 8]: inventory, commission of appraisement;
- [CP 9-CP 10]: docket and covering letter for the ship's papers [all these papers were restored].
[Decision: ship and cargo restored, 20 January 1691].
