Description

Captured ship: Greyhound or Levrette of Nantes (commander Patris or Patrick Lincole).

History: a French privateer (25 tons, abandoned by her crew) bound from Nantes on a cruise; taken on 1/11 June 1693 off Cape Finisterre by the privateer Cloudesley Galley (Samuel Fuller commanding), and brought into Cadiz.

Court Papers numbered CP 1-CP 3:

  • [CP 1-CP 2]: two declarations, in place of examinations;
  • [CP 3]: docket for the ship's papers.

Ship's papers, numbered SP 1-SP 3, letter of marque, customs paper, ship's pass.

[Decision: ship condemned, 27 July 1693].
