Description

Captured ship: Grand Pecheur or Great Fisher of Dunkirk (commander Nicholas Bernard).

History: a French privateer (25 tons, 6 guns, 20 men) bound from Dunkirk on a cruise; taken on 2/12 March 1696/7 by HMS Solebay (Henry Wild commanding), and brought into Harwich.

  • [CP 1]: two examinations;
  • [CP 2]: docket for the ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 2, letter of marque, muster roll.

[Decision: condemned 18 March 1697].
