History: a French privateer (70 tons, 12 guns, 72 men), bound from St Malo on a cruise; taken on 3/13 August 1696 off 'Cape Cantier' [Mull of Kintyre], Scotland by HMS Crown (Cooper Wade commanding), and brought into Belfast.
