Description

Captured ship: Good Apostle or Bon Apostre of St Malo (commander Gilles de Beaulieu).

History: a French privateer (25 tons) bound from St Malo on a cruise; taken on 10/20 April 1697 in Falmouth Bay by HMS Germoon Prize (Thomas Smith commanding), and brought into Falmouth.

Ship's Papers numbered SP 1, letter of marque.

[Decision: condemned 29 April 1697].
