Captured ship: Golden Ryer or Herne of Tonningen (master Martin Eazust).
History: a Holstein merchant ship (galliot hoy, 60 tons) bound from Newcastle to Tonningen, laden with coal; taken on 22 May / 1 June 1694 off Hamburg by the French privateer Auror (Janain commanding), retaken on 29 May / 8 June 1694 off the North Foreland by HMS Jersey (Richard Paul commanding), and brought into Margate.
