Description

Captured ship: Golden Pelican of Copenhagen (master Thomas Anderson).

History: a Danish merchant ship (97 lasts) bound from Copenhagen to St Martin de Re, laden with deals, steel, plates, pepper, peas, pepper, beef, herring and tin; taken on 1 /11 July 1694 by HMS Elizabeth (Robert Wilmot commanding), and brought into the Downs.

  • [CP 1]: three examinations;
  • [CP 2]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants in Copenhagen.
