Description

Captured ship: Golden Ox of Alburgh [Aalborg] (master Andrew or Anders Neilsen).

History: a Danish merchant ship (24 lasts) bound from Fleckery [Flekkeroy, Norway] to Bordeaux, laden with wax, deals, blacken [?]; taken during July 1694 by HMS Garland (Thomas Robinson commanding), and brought into the Downs.

Court Papers numbered CP 1-CP 3:

  • [CP 1-CP 2]: two brief examinations;
  • [CP 3]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants in Aalborg.

[Decision: ship and cargo restored, 26 July 1694].
