Captured ship: La Gentille (master Adrien Virnault).
History: a French ship (30 tons, abandoned by her crew), bound from Rouen to Isigny-sur-Mer, in ballast; taken on 7/17 August 1696 in Caen Harbour by the privateer Melcomb Sloop (Mansell commanding), and brought into Weymouth.
