Description

Captured ship: Frederick Amalia of Copenhagen (master Frids Fridson).

History: a Danish merchant ship bound from Newcastle upon Tyne to Nieuwpoort, laden with coals; taken during June 1689 by HMS Phoenix (Stafford Fairborne commanding) and brought into Great Yarmouth.

Court Papers numbered CP 1-CP 3:

  • [CP 1]: interrogatories;
  • [CP 2]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants;
  • [CP 3]: abstracts and translations of the 13 ship's papers [all these papers were restored].

[Decision: ship and cargo restored, 9 August 1689].
