History: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (55 tons, men) bound from Bordeaux to Dunkirk, laden with wine and brandy; taken on 25 February / 7 March 1696/7 off the Isle of Wight by HMS Plymouth (John Jennings commanding) and brought into Portsmouth.
