History: a Dutch merchant ship bound from Vlissingen to Guiana [Surinam], laden with iron, gunpowder and shot; taken during September 1695 off Torbay by the French privateer L'Infallible (Julien Fouquett commanding), retaken five days later off Monville by two English warships, HMS Lyme (Stephen Elliot commanding) and HMS Rochester (Robert Kirktown commanding) brought into Plymouth.
