Description

Captured ship: Fortune of Callendborg [Kalundborg] (master Andreas Frerop).

History: a Danish merchant ship (48 tons) bound from Bordeaux to Copenhagen, laden with wine, brandy, prunes, paper, and vinegar; taken on 1/11 April 1692 off Torbay by HMS Crown (Thomas Warren commanding) and brought into Plymouth.

  • [CP 2]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of Danish merchants;
  • [CP 3-CP 4a]: attestations and claims sent in from Kalundborg and Copenhagen, with translations;
  • [CP 5-CP 7]: papers from legal proceedings taken at Plymouth - an affidavit, 2 examinations;
  • [CP 8-CP 9]: commission of appraisement, inventory;
  • [CP 10]: legal proceedings taken on commission at Copenhagen, including attestations, interrogatories, examinations and affidavits.
