Description

Captured ship: Fisher of Boston (master Thomas Allett).

History: an English merchant ship (70 tons) bound from Salem, Massachusetts to Cadiz, laden with fish, timber; taken on 15/25 January 1693/4 off the coast of Portugal by the French privateer Hercules (Bougey commanding), retaken on 7/17 February 1693/4 about 70 leagues off the south coast of England by HMS Pembroke (Roger Belwood commanding) and brought into Fowey.

  • [CP 1]: three examinations;
  • [CP 2]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of merchants in London and Boston, Massachusetts;
  • [CP 3-CP 4]: inventory, commission of appraisement.

[Decision: ship and cargo restored, paying salvage, 15 March 1694].
