Description

Captured ship: Faithful Francis of St Malo (master Jean La Gouelle).

History: a French merchant ship (galliot, 50 tons) bound from Rouen to St Malo, laden with burr stones, bottles and tobacco; taken during 1692 by the privateer Guernsey Sloop (John Stephens commanding) and brought into Guernsey.

Court Papers numbered CP 1-CP 4:

  • [CP 1-CP 3]: affidavit, inventory, commission of appraisement;
  • [CP 4]: docket, still attahed to the ship's papers.

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1-SP 4, ship's pass, bills of lading.

[Decision: ship and cargo condemned 12 February 1692].
