A letter from John Robinson to Sir Stanier Porten, dated at Treasury Chambers [London] concerning limitations placed on the tonnage of East India Company ships, required under the terms of an act for the preservation of oak for the Royal Navy. Enclosing: Folio 439-440. Copy of Robertson [to the chairman and deputy chairman of the E.I.C] , dated at Treasury Chambers]. Folio 441-442. Copy of P Mitchell, secy [Secretary], dated at East India House [London] on 21 February 1782. An account of ships in the service expected to arrive, to be discharged, and to set out on subsequent voyages. Folio 445-446. State of ships in the company's service.
