The memorial of Hugh Finlay, deputy post master general for the Northern District of North America, to the post masters general, Viscount Barrington and Henry Frederick Carteret, dated at London. Requests the secretary of state's support with General [Sir Frederick] Haldemand that he be appointed as provincial Mâitres de Postes in Canada, for the post road between Quebec and Montreal. Folio 432. Also a letter from Carteret to Welbore Ellis, principal secretary of state [for the colonies].
