A letter from Thos [Thomas] Lamb to [undersecretary] John Bell, Upper Charlotte Street, Russell Place, London [Middlsex] [concerning information connected to spies and smugglers operating across the English Channel]. There have been no diligences, but correspondence has come for John Turner to the post office, which he has no authority to inspect. Mentions: 'Felix's business', Mr Peadle, and the open secret, locally, that intelligence goes to France by smugglers.
