Folios 255-260. Draft of a letter to the Attorney General and Solicitor General, enquiring whether published letters sent by Lord George Gordon to Lord North, and Lord Southampton, are seditious. Enclosing: editions of 'The Public Advertiser' number 14633 dated 4 September 1781; and number 14637 dated 8 September 1781. Gordon's letter, dated at Welbeck Street [Middlesex], concerns a book sent him from Edinburgh about the Popish [Roman Catholic] Bill which he desires to present to the King [George III], with published replies. The newspaper also contain a variety of commercial and theatrical news, and advertisements.
