A letter from Thomas Lamb to [under-secretary] John Bell, at Upper Charlotte Street, London, dated at Rye [Sussex, concerning smuggling vessels sailing between Boulogne, France, and Rye, Sussex, suspected of treasonable activity, and involving John Turner]. Lamb has investigated the master of the diligences, and can find nobody of the name 'Mr Fagen', except a private soldier, from Wiltshire, in the 52nd regiment. Seal. Folio 197. Copy of reply, dated at St James's [Middlesex]. Describes Fagen, and mentions his residence in Brighthelmstone [Brighton, Sussex].
