A letter from J W Hammond to Sir Stanier Porten, dated at Dover [Kent], concerning a suspected treasonable correspondence between 'T W', identified as Thomas Watson, an overseas pilot, and a Dutch Admiral , Heartsenck. Folio 190. A letter from Mr Howe, in the secretary's absence, dated at Customs House, London. Enclosing: Folio 191. A letter from Rooth Colebrak, Customs House, Dover, Kent. Details a search made by John Norris, tide-surveyor, of a Dutch [Netherlands] pilot taking passage aboard the 'Expedite' passage vessel bound to Ostend. Folio 192-193. Hammond to Porten, dated at Dover, concerning Watson's escape.
