Folio 134. Copy of a letter from Edw [Edward] Stanley to Benjamin Thompson, Customs House, London concerning the importation of one-thousand swords from Germany for use of his Majesty's provincial forces in North America. He suggests a Treasury warrant might satisfy the Secretary of States' stipulation that a licence is necessary to important arms to HM's stores.
