A letter from John Osborn to the Earl of Hillsborough, dated at Charles Street Berkley Square [Middlesex], seeking an [unspecified] position which he expects will arise in consequence of the death of Mr [William] Aislabie's [MP for Ripon, Yorkshire] and his expectation that [John Stuart] Lord Mountstuart will now wish to live in England. Calls attention to his own diplomatic career since 64 [1764] at Brussels [Austrian Netherlands, the Kingdom of] Naples and Dresden [Saxony], and his brother's attachment to the government.
