A letter from Edwd [Edward] Stanley to William Knox, dated at Customs House [London] concerning the brig 'Swallow', Captain W Causland, detained in Deal [Kent] by order of the Board enclosing documents taken from a trunk aboard. Encloses: Folio 89-90. Jas [James] Gunman and Raoth Colebran, dated at Customs House, Dover [Kent], describing the search mounted on the vessels, and mentioning seals affixed to the 'stair trunks' by the Collector and Comptroller of Deal.
