Description

Captured ship: Concordia of Copenhagen (master Christian Laurenzen).

History: a Danish ship, bound from Ostend to Glückstadt, laden with wine, vinegar, glass, hoops, tapestries, linen, stockings and tablecloths; taken on 24 July / 5 August 1696 off Glückstadt by HMS Assistance (Thomas Robinson commanding), and brought into the River Thames.

  • [CP 2]: claim to the ship and cargo on behalf of a Councillor in Copenhagen;
  • [CP 3]: allegation;
  • [CP 4]: attestation as to the perishing nature of the cargo;
  • [CP 5-CP 7]: two attestations issued at Glückstadt and Flensburg, interrogatories;
  • [CP 8]: abstracts and translations of the 17 ship's papers [these papers were restored].
