Description

Captured ship: St Clara of Ostend (master Michael Manfolk).

History: a Flemish (Spanish Netherlands) merchant ship (180 tons), bound from Bordeaux to Ostend, laden with wine; stopped by a French warship, and again by a Dutch warship but cleared both times, and taken around August 1691 by the privateer Elizabeth and Catherine (William Young commanding), and brought into Dover.
