Folios 186-187. Letter dated at Dover from John Walcot to 'My Dear Sir'. 'You must be so hurried that I will only say one short word to you - amidst the many proper steps taking to quell this extraordinary tumult might it not be proper now to restrain persons from quitting the kingdom without passports? or to stop the Margate door of flight. I find the Margate boats go openly to Calais instead of Ostend'.
