Folios 158-159. Letter dated at Whitehall from Tho [Thomas] Wooldridge, Alderman of Bridge Ward, to Lord Amherst. He has received word that the rioters have assembled for the purpose of destroying the water works at London Bridge and cutting the pipes of the New River 'and thus bringing desolation and pestilence into the City'. He asks for a sufficient force to protect them having been unable to obtain any guard from the commanding officer in the City or from the Lord Mayor. True copy.
