Folios 146-147. Draft of a letter dated 12.30 in the afternoon at London to Jo [John] [Thomson] Bull, the Reverend Mr [Henry] Green [Greene] and the Reverend Mr [Edward] Cuthbert Justices of the Peace in Essex sent by a messenger that there is every reason to believe there may be outbreaks of rioting in Essex, outrages intended and Lord Petre's house at Thorndon particularly threatened. They are desired to take 'every possible legal endeavour to prevent all mischief and to preserve the public peace'.
