Letter dated at Whitehall from Thos [Thomas] de Grey Jun [Junior] to Sir Stanier Porten concerning a letter that appeared in sundry newspapers purporting to have been written by [General] Sir Henry Clinton to Lord George Germain and to be published by order of Congress. With the letter De Grey encloses for Lord Hillsborough's information:- Folios 113-114. Lord George Germain's remarks upon which he founds his conviction that no such letter can ever have been written by Sir Henry.
