Folio 109. Letter dated at Philadelphia from L de la Luzerne to [Antoine Raymond Jean Gualbert Gabriel de] Sartine [French Secretary of State for the navy]. Luzerne asks Mr de Vergennes [Charles Gravier, Comte de Vergennes French Foreign Minister] to give Sartine a copy of a letter he wrote to the Comte de Grasse regarding Penobscot and its surroundings that should be taken. Endorsed 'Extract of an old letter in the new cypher. Decyphered. Penobscot'.
