Folios 107-108. Letter dated at Margate from Chrisr [Christopher] Wells, Officiating Minister of Margate, to [?Lord Hillsborough] expressing his concern at the ease with which 'all foreigners and even natives and subjects of France pass and repass to and from the Austrian Netherlands; and the dangerous correspondence which may be carried on and articles of intelligence which may be collected, and transmitted, by these means to our natural enemies' and suggesting a remedy. He ends by mentioning that he served as chaplain in HMS Russell with Captain [Francis Samuel] Drake and is known to Sir George Collier, Lord Talbot and the Bishop of Llandaff [Barrington Shute].
