Folios 91-94. Folios 91 and 94. Letter dated at Treasury Chambers from John Robinson to William Fraser relating to cargoes of brandy in a Danish snow and Dutch ship which General Elliot, the Governor of Gibraltar, 'deemed expedient to detain there for the use of the garrison'. Johnson requests that Lord Stormont write the consul at Ostend and to the British Minister in Holland to settle the claims of the owners of the brandy. With the letter is enclosed:- Folios 92-93. Copy account of the brandy landed by order of General Elliot from the Dutch ship 'Liefde', captain Johann David Croose. The account incorporates the sworn declarations of John Peter Jordan, Town Gauger in the Revenue at Gibraltar, and Moses Espinosa, Dutch Vice-Consul at Gibraltar.
