Description

Folios 62-65. Folios 62 and 65. Letter dated at Whitehall from the Lords of Trade to Lord Hillsborough enclosing an extract of a letter sent to the Committee of the African Company by Richard Miles the Governor of Cape Coast Castle [Ghana]. Folios 63-64. Extract reporting the arrival of Don Joaquin Primo de Rivera the newly appointed Spanish governor of Fernando Po who appears unaware that Spain has joined France in war against Great Britain; the naval activities of the Portuguese and Danes and the possible risks to British interests.
