Circular dated at St James's addressed to the Lieutenant-Governor of Jersey enclosing the Gazette Extraordinary confirming the victory of the British fleet under Sir George Rodney on 16 January 1780 over the Spanish fleet commanded by Don Juan de Lángara [Battle of Cape St Vincent]. Noted 20 circulars sent on 29 February to Lords Lieutenant who had a separate letter and 20 circulars sent 7 March. Folio 57. Letter dated at Bath [Somerset] from [Lieutenant-General Sir] Jas [James] Adols [Adolphus] Oughton to 'My Lord' acknowledging receipt of the letter and copy of the Gazette Extraordinary.
