National Museums Liverpool was established as a national museum in 1986 as National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside. In 2003 the group adopted the current name.
National Museums Liverpool's mission is to promote the public enjoyment and understanding of art, history and science. The group consists of a number of museums, including:
