Administrative / biographical background

The Geffrye Museum opened in 1914 on Kingsland Road, London. The museum is named after Sir Robert Geffrye, former Lord Mayor of London and Master of the Ironmongers' Company. The museum's collection shows the changing style of English domestic interiors from 1600 to the present day.
